About
Mursal Nazary was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. She fled with her family to Moscow, Russia, at the start of the Afghan Civil War in 1992. Shortly after, they travelled to Dortmund, Germany in 1993. Seeking a long-term home, her family was accepted for immigration to Canada in 1997.
Mursal received her BFA in Drawing and Painting at OCAD University in Toronto, Canada. In 2011 she attended the OCAD University Off-campus Program in Florence, Italy for her third year. Mursal received her MFA in Painting at Boston University in 2019 and has remained in the United States since.
Mursal has presented her work in Belgium, France, Italy, Canada and the United States. She continues to paint, draw and make prints in New Hampshire.
